The planned cross-country trip
I'm leaving Maryland in my RV in mid-November. I plan to use as many of the dump stations on this map as I can and review the ones I visit. Here is the plan, leg by leg, with a link to each state's stations. More about the project.
Route
I-95 south to Florida planned
Starting out from Maryland in mid-November and following I-95 south.
States: Maryland (19 stations), Virginia (45 stations), North Carolina (23 stations), South Carolina (9 stations), Georgia (37 stations), Florida (43 stations)
Across the Everglades planned
Crossing South Florida.
States: Florida (43 stations)
Up Florida's west coast planned
Heading north along the Gulf side.
States: Florida (43 stations)
Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana planned
Alabama and Louisiana are on the plan. Mississippi sits between them on the usual route, so it is likely too.
States: Alabama (15 stations), Mississippi (10 stations) likely, Louisiana (9 stations)
West to California planned
Grand Canyon and other must-see places on the way. Texas, New Mexico and Arizona are the likely path, but the exact route is not set.
States: Texas (65 stations) likely, New Mexico (18 stations) likely, Arizona (53 stations) likely, California (134 stations)
Home across the central US planned
Spring return to Maryland. The route and states are still to be decided.
States: Maryland (19 stations)
Reviewed on the road so far
Stations I have reviewed on the road: 0. I haven't visited any for this project yet. Reviews will only appear after the trip begins, and only for stations I actually use.
You can help
If you've used a station on the map, or you find one that's closed, moved, or wrong, send a visit report with the date you were there (and the fee you paid and whether the water was potable, if you can). Every review is read before it goes live. Use a station page's review form, the report form, or email [email protected].
Only the plan is shown here: no live location and no exact dates. Station details come from an OpenStreetMap snapshot (July 15, 2026) and can be out of date.
