Disclosure: the links on this page go straight to each company's site and are not affiliate links today. If that changes, this note will say so.
Overnight-stay memberships can cut camping costs on a long trip, but only if you actually use them. This page compares list prices and what each plan includes, taken from each company's own pages in October 2026. We have not tested these memberships, so this is a summary of what they offer, not a review. Prices and promotions change often, so check the current price before you join.

- Many RVers combine one host network with one campground discount club and use both on long trips.
Don't forget the dump station
Host locations usually have no sewer hookups, so plan where you'll empty your tanks. Search dump stations by state or city, see the stations along the planned cross-country route, or read how to dump RV tanks.
Frequently asked questions
Is Harvest Hosts worth it?
It depends on how often you would use it. Harvest Hosts says Classic is typically paid for in the cost of about two campground nights. If you expect only one or two overnight stops a year, a campground may be cheaper.
What is the difference between Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome?
Harvest Hosts locations are small businesses such as wineries and farms, usually for one night. Boondockers Welcome hosts are private individuals, and stays can be longer depending on the host. Both are offered together in a combined plan.
Does Passport America work at every campground?
No. It only applies at participating campgrounds, and each park sets its own limits on dates and nights. Check the park's listing before you count on the discount.
Do these memberships include dump stations?
Not as a rule. Some hosts and campgrounds have a dump station and some do not. Use this site to find a dump station near where you stay.
