RV LIFE Trip Wizard and RV LIFE Pro: what they do and how to plan dump stops with them

Quick answer: RV LIFE Trip Wizard is a web-based RV trip planner that builds routes around your RV's height, weight, and length, and shows campgrounds, gas stops, and points of interest along the way. It comes with an RV LIFE Pro subscription, which also unlocks RV Safe GPS in the RV LIFE app. Pair it with this site's dump station lists to plan where to empty your tanks.

How do I plan dump stops with Trip Wizard and this site?

  1. Build the route in Trip Wizard with your RV's real height, weight, and length, and set daily driving limits.
  2. For each overnight stop, note the city and state, then open that state on this site (for example Arizona) and look for a dump station near your route.
  3. To keep costs down, check the state's free list (for example free dump stations in Texas) and read how much dump stations cost.
  4. For late arrivals or early starts, use the 24-hour dump stations list; for fuel-and-dump stops, the truck stop dump stations list.
  5. If you stay at Harvest Hosts or Boondockers Welcome locations, which usually have no sewer, plan a dump stop before and after (see the membership comparison).

Our station data is an OpenStreetMap snapshot (July 15, 2026), so call ahead or check on arrival.

We have not confirmed that from RV LIFE's pages. Plan your route in Trip Wizard, then use this site's state, city, 24-hour, and truck stop lists to pick dump stops along the way.

Can I trust RV-safe routing completely?

No tool replaces road signs. RV LIFE's own terms say road information prevails, including posted clearances, bridge weights, and tunnel restrictions. Double-check your RV's height, weight, and length in your profile before you rely on a route.
