Privacy policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
This policy explains what information freervdump.com ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. You can use the site without creating an account or giving us your name or email.
What we collect
- Things you choose to send us. If you leave a station review or visit report, we store what you type (rating, status, comment, and an optional name), the station and page it was about, and the time. If you use the Feedback / ideas box, we store your message, the page, and an optional email. If you sign up for email updates, we store your email address and the page you signed up from.
- Station reports. The Report a station form doesn't send anything to our servers. It opens your own email app with a message addressed to [email protected], so we only get it if you send that email, and we then have your email address and whatever you wrote.
- Basic technical data. Our site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. To limit spam, when you submit a form we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for about an hour to count submissions. We don't store your raw IP address with what you submit.
- Analytics. We don't currently run Google Analytics or other third-party analytics scripts. We may look at aggregate traffic statistics provided by our host. If we add a privacy-friendly analytics tool in the future, we'll update this page.
- Maps. Maps load tiles from OpenStreetMap's tile servers, which receive your IP address and the map area being viewed. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
Cookies
Our own pages don't set cookies for tracking or advertising. Our host may use strictly necessary cookies for security. When you click an affiliate or sponsored link, the partner's site, or an affiliate network such as Awin, may set cookies on your device so the purchase can be credited to us. Those cookies are set by them, under their privacy policies, not ours.
How to opt out: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (most browsers can block third-party cookies). Blocking cookies won't break this site. If you don't want affiliate cookies, don't click affiliate links, or clear cookies after visiting a partner's site. You can read Awin's policy at awin.com/us/privacy.
Affiliate links and advertising
Some links on this site are affiliate links (for example, Harvest Hosts and TideWe links through the Awin network). If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The partner and network can see that you came from our site, and they handle any information you give them. We don't currently show ads from ad networks. If we add advertising or more affiliate partners in the future, those partners may use cookies or similar technology, and we'll update this page.
How we use information
- To show reviews and visit notes on station pages (only the rating, status, comment, optional name, and date are shown publicly; feedback and email addresses are never published).
- To fix and improve station information and the site.
- To reply to you if you gave us an email and asked a question.
- To send occasional email updates if you signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us.
- To prevent spam and abuse.
Sharing
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers that run the site for us (such as our hosting provider, Cloudflare), when the law requires it, or to protect the site and its users. Public reviews are, by design, visible to everyone.
How long we keep it
We keep submissions and email sign-ups as long as they're useful for running the site, or until you ask us to delete them. Spam-control counters expire after about an hour.
Your privacy rights (California, Virginia, and other states)
Depending on where you live, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA and the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we have about you and get a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, or targeted advertising (we don't do either, but you can still ask);
- limit the use of sensitive personal information (we don't collect any on purpose);
- appeal our decision if we turn down your request (Virginia residents can email us with "Appeal" in the subject line, and if you're unhappy with the outcome you can contact the Virginia Attorney General);
- be free from discrimination for using these rights.
How to make a request: email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request" and tell us what you want. Include the email address or details (such as the review text) that will help us find your information. We may need to confirm the request is really from you. We aim to respond within 45 days. You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the "Last updated" date.
